Catherine Evelyn Kelly

Catherine Evelyn Kelly, 93, of Princeton died at 6 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2010, at Colonial Hall Care Center in Princeton. Born March 27, 1917, in Maywood to Emery Jacob and Blanche Evelyn (Smythe) Chronister, she married Anthony A. Kelly Sept. 24, 1938, Maywood. He died March 31, 1992. She was a 1935 graduate of Proviso Township High School. She was the owner and operator of the grocery store in Maywood from 1949 to 1957. She also worked for Illinois Bell for 10 years. Surviving are one son, Emery (Chris) Kelly of Largo, Fla.; two sisters, Mildred Hahne of Princeton and Alice Hoosier of Naples, Fla.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Dorothy Schultz and Nellie Zabransky. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mount Bloom Cemetery, Tiskilwa, with the Rev. Jon Olinger officiating. Burial will be in Mount Bloom Cemetery, Tiskilwa. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the donor''s choice.
