William E. Schisler, 84, of Princeton, formerly of Manlius, passed away at 2:45 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison. Born Aug. 29, 1928, in Astoria Township, Fulton County, to Jacob E. and Julia A. (Hess) Schisler, he married Virginia E. Easley Aug. 21, 1949, in Springfield. She died Jan. 12, 2013. He was a 1946 graduate of Astoria High School. He was a lifetime farmer, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Grace United Brethen Church in Manlius and the Bureau County Farm Bureau. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Surviving are two sons, Craig Schisler of Polo and Kevin Schisler of Morrison; and two grandchildren, Jason Schisler of Madison, Wis., and Ryan Schisler of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Doris West and Margaret Scrogum-Wickert. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Jeff McIlrath officiating. Burial will be in the Manlius Cemetery, Manlius, with military rites conducted by Princeton American Legion Post 125. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Manlius Cemetery Association, American Heart Association or the donor''s choice.
