Wilbur L. Albrecht, 92, of Tiskilwa passed away at 3:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. Born Feb. 27, 1920, in Tiskilwa to John V. and Leah (Litwiller) Albrecht, he married Gratice L. Eichelberger Feb. 6, 1952, in Wayland, Iowa. She survives. He was a graduate of Tiskilwa High School and a lifetime farmer. He was also a bus driver for Bureau and Princeton schools. He was a life-long member of the Willow Springs Mennonite Church in Tiskilwa and an usher in the church for more than 50 years. He was also a member of the Bureau County Farm Bureau. He served in the U.S. Army, Medical Detachment 205th Infantry Battalion, during World War II from 1942 to 1945. Also surviving are two sons, Curtis (Mary) Albrecht of Tiskilwa and Carson (Betty) Albrecht of Newton, Kan.; five grandchildren, Candis Albrecht of Tiskilwa, Christina Zielinski of Hennepin, Curtis Albrecht Jr. of Tiskilwa, David Albrecht of Newton, Kan., and Elijah Albrecht of Newton, Kan.; one stepgrandchild, Angelia Castillo of Texas; two great-grandchildren, Traysen Carlson of Tiskilwa and Jace Stuckey of Tiskilwa; one brother, Weldon (Evalyn) Albrecht of Glendale, Ariz.; one brother-in-law, Dale Detwiler of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harold Albrecht; two sisters, Eunice Kauffman and Marcella Detwiler; and one brother-in-law, Roy Kauffman. Services will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 12 at Willow Springs Mennonite Church, Tiskilwa, with Pastor Cal Zehr officiating. Burial will be in Willow Springs Mennonite Cemetery, Tiskilwa. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Jan. 12 at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Willow Springs Mennonite Church or Billy Graham Association.
