Wayland Paul Arnold

Wayland Paul Arnold, 90, of Buda died at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. Born July 1, 1921, in Buda to J. Nevin and Myrtle Isabelle (Foster) Arnold, he married Violet Mae Roberts Nov. 22, 1946, in Maywood. She died Jan. 22, 1983. He then married Winona R. Eckhoff Oct. 23, 1983. She died Aug. 14 1995. He was a 1939 graduate of Buda High School. He was a lifetime farmer. He served in the U.S. Navy as an aviation ordinanceman first class during World War II. He attended the First Baptist Church in Buda. He was a member of the Buda Fire Department for 69 years and had been a member of American Legion Post 261 Frank W. Suggitt since 1946. He was a past board member of Berlin Mutual Insurance in Princeton, and a past Macon Township Board member and supervisor. He was a member of the Buda Rescue Unit for 11 years. Survivors include a special friend, Joann V. Roberts of Buda; two sons, Gerald (Ellen) Arnold of Downers Grove and Gaile (Denise) Arnold of Buda; one daughter, Mary (Earl) Sanders of Rock Island; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Laura Root officiating. Burial will be in Hopeland Cemetery, Buda, with military rites conducted by Buda American Legion Post 261. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Buda Rescue Squad, Hopeland Cemetery Association or Buda American Legion Post 261.

So sorry to hear about Wayland, But he’s in a better place now. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.
I am so sorry for your loss. May “the God of all comfort” (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) comfort and soothe your heart. His promises, found in the Holy Scriptures, can offer much hope. It assures us at John 5:28,29 that our loved ones will be remembered and brought back to life in the resurrection. Please allow God’s Word to strengthen you and help you to endure this most difficult time.
