Wanda J. Bruner, 70, of Wyanet, Illinois passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m.   Monday, May 10, 2021 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Kewanee, Illinois.

She was born June 30, 1950 in Princeton, Illinois the daughter of Russell R. and Erma V. (Towne) Bruner.

Wanda is survived by five sisters: Eileen Warren of Princeton, Thelma Beall , Mary (John) Durick, Janet Bruner of Wyanet, and Madolyn (Jim) Wallace of Dorsey, IL; one brother, John (Carol) Bruner of Ottawa, IL and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Wanda graduated Wyanet High School with the Class of 1968.

She worked in housekeeping at the Holiday Inn, later named the Days Inn, for 20 years and retired from Perry Memorial Hospital after 18 years.

Wanda was an avid book reader, she especially enjoyed James Patterson. She liked word search puzzles, baking, and watching the Cubs. Wanda painted ceramic homes and completed a village and she collected lighthouses and cardinals.

Memorials may be directed to the Wyanet Rescue Unit, Friends of Strays or direct to the family for charitable distribution.

  3. Dear Cousins’ Sending you our sorrow for the passing of Wanda.. I remember Wanda. and the family helping me celebrate my birthday’s at the Tama park, and the family reunions. My Grandpa Bruner was Carl, and my Mom was Evonne. We remember growing up with our Bruner cousins at my Grandpa and Grandma Bruner’s, and other families that had family gatherings.
