Vivian R. King

Vivian R. King, 97, of Princeton, Illinois passed away Monday, July 11, 2022 at Aperion Care Nursing Home, Princeton.
She was born December 27, 1924 in Kenosha County, Wisconsin the daughter of Philip and Abbie Rosalie (Thompson) Gould.
Vivian married Glenn E. King November 6, 1948 in Rockford, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 4, 1990.
She is survived by two daughters: Ruth (Terry) Oyer of Canton, MI and Kathy (Joe) Olson of Wyanet, IL; seven grandchildren: Christy (Kraig) Cabe, Brian (Connie) Oyer, Lisa (Tim) Cunningham, Nathan (Trista) Miller, Jennifer (Dave) Jaquay, Jared (Kelly) Olson, and Karen (Brian) Kroening; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Mary Miller, two sisters: Mildred LaMont and Eleanor Meyer; and one brother, Norman Gould.
She graduated from Warren High School with the Class of 1942.
Vivian was a cheese packer at Kraft Foods in Manlius, Illinois, retiring in 1972.
She was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church, Princeton. Vivian was active in her church life and taught Sunday School at the United Methodist Church in Mineral and the United Brethren Church in Manlius. She enjoyed gardening and reading.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2022 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Evangelical Covenant Church, Princeton with Rev. Rodney Sawyer, officiating. Burial will take place in Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton. Memorials may be directed to the Evangelical Covenant Church, Princeton or the Moody Bible Institute.
