Virginia Lee Smith, 79, of Malden died at 1:50 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Colonial Hall in Princeton. Born Aug. 2, 1934, in Spring Valley to Harry and Pearl (Hensel) Mitchell, she married Richard Lee Smith Dec. 27, 1952, in Malden. He died Jan. 2, 2011. She was a 1952 graduate of Malden High School. She worked at Harper-Wyman in Princeton and Beaber''s Restaurant in Princeton. She was a member of the Malden United Methodist Church. Surviving are three sons, Michael (Kathy) Smith of Wyanet, Ricky (Jane) Smith of Davenport, Iowa, and Brian Scott Smith of Malden; two daughters, Connie (Dan) Mauser of Malden and Nancy Strouss of Wyanet; one daughter-in-law, Kathy Smith of Princeton; 15 grandchildren, Ryan Smith, Zachary (Elizabeth) Smith, Lyndsay (Patrick Selletto) Smith, Abigail (Arthur) Batten, Ashley Hobbs, Randi (Andrew) Gould, Bobbi (Darrel) Potter, Christopher (Becca) Smith, Justin Smith, Kristi Eaton, Tricia (Arthur) Burden, Kurt Etzenbach, Ellen Etzenbach, Mitchell Smith and Bradley (JessiciA) Strouss; 25 great-grandchildren; a dog, Daisy; and her best friend, Carol Dye. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Ronald Smith; and a granddaughter. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Brian Moore officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 7, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Ryan Smith, Zachary Smith, Bradley Strouss, Christopher Smith, Justin Smith, Arthur Burden and Mitchell Smith. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
