Veronica Lee Moon

Veronica Lee Moon, 84, of Wyanet, Illinois, formerly of Cambridge, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at her home.

Veronica was born on December 20, 1941, in Andover Township, the daughter of Clifford B. and Rachel (Wildermuth) Grant. She graduated from Cambridge High School with the Class of 1959. On June 15, 1963, she married Paul W. Moon at the Methodist Church in Cambridge. Together they shared 63 years of marriage.

Veronica owned and operated Moon’s Full-Service Decorating for 30 years, providing wallpaper hanging, painting, and decorating services for homes throughout Bureau County. She was a former member of the United Methodist Church in Wyanet and most recently attended Walnut Community Bible Church.

Veronica loved tending to her flower gardens and was a member of the Tiskilwa Garden Club. She enjoyed family vacations, stock car racing, and boating. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Moon of Wyanet; three sons, Jeffrey (Peggy) Moon, Bryan (Carla) Moon, and Matthew Moon, all of Wyanet; ten grandchildren, Whitney (Noel) Warkins, Breanna (Tyler) Woolley, Luke Moon, Nathan Moon, Josh Moon, Monica (Matt) McCleary, Justin Moon, Ashley Poruba, Bobbi Cain Poruba, and Chad Poruba; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Carol Hasbrook, Zerretta Swanson, and Norine Hasbrook; and four brothers, Orville Grant, Dwayne Grant, Phillip Grant, and Cary Grant.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Joe Henson officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the Wyanet VFW. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Kewanee.

Pallbearers will be Nate Moon, Luke Moon, Justin Moon, Hayden McCleary, Chad Poruba, and Tyler Woolley.
