Veda R Scott

Veda R. Scott of Bradford, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012, at Kewanee Care Home in Kewanee. Veda was born to Ira T. & Gertrude (Lindsey) Coleman on October 30, 1929, in Albion, IL. She graduated from Edwards County High School in 1947. She married John L. Scott February 12, 1955 in Bradford. He passed away August 25, 1994. She was a member of the Leet Memorial United Methodist Church in Bradford and belonged to the United Methodist Women. She was a farmer''s wife and also waitressed at Spoon River Bowl in Wyoming. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Alvin and Bob Coleman. Veda is survived by two daughters, Mary (Tom) Scheider of Freeport, IL, Lynda Lou (Edward) Douglas of Bartonville, IL; son Bryan L. (Sharon A.) Scott of Wyoming, IL; 6 grandchildren, Matthew Gilbert of Pasadena, MD, Derek (Courtney) Scott of Peoria, Carter Scott of Wyoming, IL, Whitney (Michael) Adamson of Plainfield, IL, John Scheider of Cedar Falls, IA, and Lindsey Scheider of Madison, WI; 3 sisters, Ava Lambert of Chelan, WA, Esther Presson and June (Bernard) Stennett both of Albion, IL Services will be Friday, January 4, 2013 in Leet Memorial United Methodist Church in Bradford at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Amy Holman officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday January 3, 2013 in the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Bradford. Burial will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Bradford. Memorials may be directed to the March of Dimes.
