Theresa Mary DeFreezer, 58, of Putnam, Illinois, passed away far too soon on April 15, 2026, leaving behind a grief-stricken family.

Theresa was born on August 11, 1967, in Princeton, Illinois, the daughter of Virgil and Betty Lou (Murphy) Robbins. She was a graduate of Bradford High School, Class of 1985. She later attended cosmetology school in Kewanee and continued to enjoy giving haircuts to close family members throughout her life.

Theresa worked as a dental assistant for over 30 years, most recently with Alliance Dental in Oglesby, IL.

On October 20, 2020, Theresa married Steven DeFreezer in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together, they enjoyed going on motorcycle rides, especially to her favorite burger spot, the Duck Inn. She loved playing games, even if she jokingly “cheated” to win. Theresa had a fascination with clocks and displayed many throughout her home. She also enjoyed shooting her pistol.

Above all, Theresa deeply cherished her family and valued every moment spent with them—especially cheering at her son’s sporting events. She never missed a single game.

She is survived by her husband, Steven DeFreezer of Putnam; her twin sons, Bo and Brock Jeffery of Sheffield; her stepson, Seth (India Thomas) DeFreezer of Chillicothe; her grandson, Brenton Davis, with another grandchild, Silas, on the way; her father, Virgil Robbins of Bradford; two brothers, Ronald (Mary) Robbins of Bradford and Don Robbins of Princeville; sister-in-law, Denise (Joe Paul) DeFreezer Paul of Flower Mound, TX; brothers-in-law, Matt (Julie) DeFreezer of Petersburg, and Rick Hardy of Wyoming; a host of nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Mike and Darlene Polman, mother and father in heart.

Theresa is reunited with her mother, Betty Lou, and her beloved sister, Kimberly Hardy.
