Thelma Arzela Hartz, 96, of Princeton, formerly of Manlius, passed away Monday Sept. 7, at Liberty Village of Princeton. She was born April 15, 1919, in Manlius Township, the daughter of Will and Mary (Fox) Hartz. She graduated from Manlius Township High School in 1934. She worked at Kraft in Manlius until its closure and as an aide at Perry Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manlius. Surviving are 3 nieces and four nephews, Nancy (Sam) Popejoy of Manlius, Sharon Hartz of Kewanee, Donald (Ann) Hartz of Tebbetts, Mo., Dennis (JoLynne) Hartz of Walnut, Loren (Lorie) Hartz of Wyoming, David (Anne) Hartz of Princeton, Renee Hartz of rural Manlius and Linda Hartz of Sterling; and 23 great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lila; three brothers, William, Lyle and Leo; and one nephew, Arthur. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Gene Vincent officiating. Burial will be in the Manlius Cemetery, Manlius, There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Manlius Cemetery.
