Terry Dennis Dyer

Terry Dennis Dyer, 68, of Rock Falls, formerly of Princeton, passed into heaven at 8:37 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at the Rock Falls Rehab and Health Care Center in Rock Falls. He was born April 2, 1948, Princeton to Harvey Ray and Kathleen (Underwood) Dyer. He graduated from Princeton High School in 1966 and Illinois Valley Community College. He was a farmer for many years with his father. He served two tours of duty with the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Princeton and served as a custodian for several years. He was an avid sports fan. Surviving are one daughter, Meghan (Kevin) Pinkas of Edwardsville; one son, Jordan (Heather) Dyer of Milton, Wis.; a grandson, Mason Pinkas of Edwardsville; two sisters, Linda Castro of Indianapolis, Ind., and Debra Russell of Macomb; one sister-in-law, Diana Dyer of Goshen, Ind.; one niece, Kimberly (Rodney) Schrader of Long Grove; and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Jonathan Dyer; his parents; and a brother, Ronald Dyer. A very special thanks to the staff at Rock Falls Rehab and Health Care Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Brian Gilbert officiating. Inurnment will be in Elm Lawn Memorial Park in Princeton at a later date. Military rites conducted by Princeton American Legion Post 125 at the funeral home following the services. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church in Princeton.
