Stokley Allen Trumbo, 92, of Wyanet passed away at 3:34 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle. Born April 11, 1925, in Hodgensville, Ky., to Benjamin H. and Rosa Mae (Lafloette) Trumbo, he married Exie M. Shofner Dec. 22, 1945, in Earlville. She preceded him in death. He was a lifetime farmer. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, stationed in Germany during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion, Princeton Farm Bureau and Union Christian Church of Kentucky. Surviving are two sons, Larry (Diane) Trumbo of Romeo, Mich., and Allen (Julie) Trumbo of Minooka; one daughter, Cammie (Phillip) Conkling of Princeton; two brothers, Ralph McArthur Trumbo of Hodgensville, Ky., and George Trumbo of Hodgensville, Ky.; two sisters, Dorothy Smith of Hodgensville, Ky., and Diane Bertram of Hodgensville, Ky.; four grandsons, Todd (Amy) Trumbo of Corona, Calif., Scott (Sara) Trumbo of California, Benjamin (Stacy) Schmitt of Oglesby and Brandon Schmitt of Tempe, Ariz.; and eight great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and one sister. Private graveside services will be held with Pastor Derek Boggs officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Memorial Park in Princeton. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the LaSalle Veterans Home and St. Jude Children''s Hospital.
