Steven N. Grant, 77, of Wyanet died at 8 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. Born Oct. 28, 1933, in Blue Mound to Orville and Sarah (Clark) Grant, he married Beverly Todd March 9, 1969, in Princeton. She survives of Wyanet. Also surviving are four sons, Ronald Beaber of St. George, Utah, Jerry (Cindy) VanAutreve of Thibodaux, La., Jim VanAutreve of Spring Valley, and Jeff (Dana) VanAutreve of Princeton; one daughter, Kathy Anderson of Henry; two brothers, Fred (Julia) Grant of Walnut, and Clarence (Mary) Grant of Lake Carroll; four sisters, Doris (Gene) Maxedon of Varna, Gladys Hanson of Sandwich, Geneva Jensen of Walnut, and Maxine Hughes of Springfield; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and four sisters, Mary Dyer, LaVerne Simpson, Barbara Quickle and Alberta Willis. He retired Jan 15, 1996, from LTV Steel in Hennepin. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton and a member of Cub and Boy Scouts of America for more than 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army as a Specialist 3 in the 265 Battery Artillery. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton, Deacon John Murphy officiating. Burial will be a private inurnment at Oakland Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Wyanet Rescue Squad or Wyanet Boy Scouts.
