Shirley Mae Vaughn, 82, of Bradford, Illinois died at 8:32 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2020 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, Illinois.
She was born October 17, 1937 in Havana, Illinois the daughter of Clyde and Anne (Gregory) Coats.
Shirley married Dale Vaughn on November 17, 1955 in Havana.
He preceded her in death.
Survivors include 2 sons: Keith Vaughn of Bradford and Kent (Cindy) Vaughn of St. Joseph, Michigan; 1 daughter, Karen Prina of Bradford; 7 grandchildren: Aaron Vaughn of Mapleton, IL, Ryan Vaughn of Peoria, Olivia Vaughn of St. Joseph, Emma Vaughn of St. Joseph, Zoe Vaughn of St. Joseph, Charlie Vaughn of St. Joseph, and Ashlee Prina of Wenona, IL; 2 great-grandchildren: Avery and Jace Stratton of Wenona; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 1 sister, Rita Smith.
Shirley graduated from Havana High School. She worked at People's National Bank in Bradford from 1985-2002. She was a member of the Leet Memorial United Methodist Church of Bradford and a longtime member of the Bradford TOPS.
Shirley loved old movies, reading, cooking, and canning. She enjoyed time spent around the kitchen table talking to family and friends. Shirley's kitchen always had homemade pickles and relish for the family and her special lemon sugar cookies for the grandkids. She was wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Cremation rites will be accorded at Grant-Johnson Funeral Homes, Inc crematory in Princeton, Illinois and inurnment will take place in Walkers Grove Cemetery, Easton, Illinois at a later date.

My Aunt Shirley was an amazing, warm and loving person. I will always treasure my memories of her and her distinct laugh. Keith, Karen and Kent, Dad, Karen, Mom, Amy and I send you our love!
