Shirley J. Holloway

Shirley J. Holloway, 86, of Princeton died at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, at Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton. Shirley was born April 28,1931, in Fairfield, the daughter of Charles and Ada Mae (Eckelberry) Withrow. She married Donald C. Holloway Aug. 6, 1948, in Mt. Vernon. He preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 1984. Survivors include four children, Larry L. Holloway of Marseilles, Dale E. (Barb) Holloway of Peru, Jack L. (Lynn) Holloway of Dalzell, and Pamela (John) Gray of Tiskilwa; 19 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two grandsons, five brothers and four sisters. She was a longtime member of the Mendota Women of the Moose. She was very active at the senior center at the Clark House including leading the Bible study. She took great joy in spending time with friends and family. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, at the Tiskilwa Community Church. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, at the church with Pastor John Gray officiating Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Mendota at a later date. Memorials may be made to the the family. Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton is handling arrangements.
