We would like to express our deepest sympathies for the loss of Shawn.
Colleen, Randy and Sharon, I share the grief you feel in losing Shawn. He was such a good man and always there to support us. His family meant the world to him and I’m so thankful for the love and extraordinary care you provided him, especially the past few months. He was one of my closest and most trusted friends and I’m so grateful we crossed paths. He will never be forgotten.
Shawn and I became friends at the University of Iowa in 1980 living on the same dormitory floor and moving through the Accounting program over the next 4 years. I remember 6 or 7 of us (Shawn and I included) piling into a van and driving to California for the Rose Bowl in 1981 watching the Iowa Hawkeye football team. Shawn and I lost touch over the years of our careers but reconnected in the last 5-6 years. I was grateful to have had the opportunity to reconnect with him. Shawn always maintained a positive attitude, even through his health struggles. He was a good man and a good person. I will miss my friend but am grateful for our luncheons and talks over the past several years on his visits to Iowa City. Rest in peace my friend!
Thoughts and prayers to Shawn’s family during this difficult time. Hang on to the memories and cherish the time you were able to have with him. While I know these are difficult times keep moving forward and living life to its fullest…..Shawn would have wanted that.
