Sharon Kay Christiansen, 78, of Princeton, IL passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.

Kay was born on November 12, 1945 in Sterling, IL the daughter of Frank S. and Florence (Gosney) Lampe. She graduated from Malden High School with the class of 1963. Kay married Donnie E. Christiansen on June 8, 1968 at First Lutheran Church in Princeton. He preceded her in death on September 24, 2016. She worked at GTE in Princeton and Kewanee for 35 years prior to her retirement. Kay enjoyed making ceramics, but most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter; Jennifer Christiansen of Kewanee; one son, Stephen (Shelly) Christiansen of North Fort Myers, FL; one son-in-law, Mike Johnson of Arnold, MO; three grandchildren, Tyler (Teal) Christiansen, Ryan (Melissa) Christiansen and Tory Christiansen; two great-grandchildren, Hazel and Ruby Christiansen; three sisters, Jean (Leon) Frank of Princeton, Betty (Paul) Blumhorst of Yuma, AZ and Eula (Jim) Neahring of AZ; one sister-in-law, Lita Lampe; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Tamara Lynn Johnson; three brothers, Roy (Shirley) Lampe, Lee (Elaine) Lampe and Kenny Lampe; three sisters, Carolyn Lampe-Cartwright, Shirley (Jesse) Zimmerman and Donna (Eugene) Pierson.

A visitation will be held from 10:00am until time of memorial service at 11:00am on, Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton, IL with Pastor Mara Ahles- Iverson, officiating. Burial of cremated remains will follow at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Princeton. Cremation Rites have been accorded.

Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church in Kewanee or to the family in lieu of flowers.

  1. Jen. Your mom was always such a sweet lady and your Dad was great too. They let you come with us on a trip to Colorado one year so you could babysit Matt while we attended some meetings… plus we got to have some fun adventures while we there. I’m so sorry for your loss and I know you and your family will miss her greatly. Mark and I send our deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers.
