Sarah Jolley Martin

Sarah Jolley Martin, 74, a longtime Princeton resident, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at her home in Sarasota, Fla. Sarah was born in Princeton on Dec. 20, 1935. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1953 and from Kansas State University in 1957, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. After teaching in the Kansas City School system for one year, she returned to Princeton to marry Donald C. Martin on Aug. 2, 1958. The wedding took place in the beautiful garden of her ancestral home on Park Avenue West, where the Martin family resided until 2001. She was a member of Hampshire Colony Congregational Church, Hardanger Club, Friends in Council and Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Don; her loving daughters, Ann (John) McQueeney and Sally Dycus; her dear grandchildren, Katherine, Sarah, Cliff and Annie; her brother, Charles D. Jolley; and a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in Princeton on Dec. 4 at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home.
