Roy G.Larson, 69, of Sheffield passed away at 5:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at his home. He was born Feb. 14, 1948, in Chicago, the son of Roy A. and Ruth E. (Pomazal) Larson. He married Patricia Richey on March 29, 1969, at the First Baptist Church of Manlius. She survives in Sheffield. Also surviving are three children, Ann (Steven) Binz of Tiskilwa, Ruth (Bill) McCoy of Wyanet and Todd (Brandi) Larson of Princeton; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Roger A. Larson of Peoria Heights; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Marvin Schmidt; one son, John Larson; and one brother, Ronald A. Larson. He graduated from Manlius High School with the Class of 1966. He retired from LCN after more than 30 years. Roy loved his children and grandchildren. He was very active in his church. He was a Sunday school teacher and deacon at the First Baptist Church of Manlius and became an ordained minister. He loved the Lord and is with him now. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at the First Baptist Church of Manlius with the Rev. Robert Edwards officiating. Burial will be in the First Baptist Church cemetery in Manlius. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at the church. Memorials may be directed to this family. The Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton is in charge of arrangements. We have wonderful memories of many family gatherings over the years, and deep gratitude for his kind, and loving help and support when our Mom, Wilda Larson, passed away in 2014.
