Ronald Pond, 76, of Sheffield died Monday, November 26, 2018 at his son’s home in Sheffield.
He was born October 30, 1942 the son of Calvin and Naomia (Anderson) Pond in Princeton, Illinois. He was married to Patricia Rumbold and they had 3 children, Lynnette (Keith) Yepsen of Schererville, IN, Christine (Mark) Pratt of Neponset, IL, and Brett (Shellie) Pond of Sheffield, IL.
Ron is survived by his children; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Calvin Pond, and one grandchild, Tanner Yepsen.
He graduated from Wyanet High School with the Class of 1960. Ron worked at Jostens, Bureau County Sheriff’s Office, farming, and was a local tavern owner. He enjoyed traveling, reading and visiting with family and friends, including his lifelong friend Steve “Motor” Hetherington daily.
A visitation will be held Friday, November 30, 2018 from 10 am - 12 Noon at Bunker Hill Church of God, Buda with a private burial following. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital. Online condolences may be sent to www.grant-johnsonfh.com.

I know there is peace in knowing Mr Pond is no longer suffering in this world, but there is rejoicing as he rests in the arms of Jesus in heaven with Tanner.
