Ronald L. Workman, 79, of Tiskilwa passed away at 1:10 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Fla. He was born Sept. 29, 1934, in Pawnee City, Neb., to Howard and Ruth (Jenkins) Workman. He married Jeanne Read Aug. 20, 1966, in Henry. She survives. He graduated from Humboldt High School in Humboldt, Neb., in 1952. He was a farmer, a welder for Pittsburgh-Des Moines Steel Co. and worked in maintenance for J&L Steel in Hennepin for 13 years. He was a member of New Hope Church of the Nazarene in Princeton, Pine Island Community Church in St. James City, Fla., various country bands and a family band. He served in the U.S. Army as a PFC in the 25th Division Marching Band, stationed in Hawaii. Also surviving are three sons, David (Tamara) Workman of Tiskilwa, Scott (Karisa) Workman of Oviedo, Fla., and Dusty (Valerie) Workman of Lakeland, Fla.; one daughter, Rhonda (Tony) Ryder of Lincoln, Neb.; 10 grandchildren, Bryan Ryder of Lincoln, Neb., Matthew (Kate) Ryder of Lincoln, Neb., Jared Ryder of Lincoln, Neb., Korey Workman of Greenwood, Neb., Krysta Workman of Lakeland, Fla., Cody Workman of Tiskilwa, Rebekah Workman of Tiskilwa, Wyatt Workman of Tiskilwa, Alisha Workman of Oviedo, Fla., and Clayton Workman of Oviedo, Fla.; three great-grandchildren, Anthony Dennis of Lincoln, Neb., Dustin Ryder of Lincoln, Neb., and Kaleb Ryder of Lincoln, Neb.; two brothers, Robert (Maxine) Workman of Humboldt, Neb., and Russel (Judy) Workman of Lincoln, Neb.; and one sister, Karen (Haney) Milstead of Auburn, Neb. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Dustin Workman II. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 28, at the New Hope Church of the Nazarene, Princeton, with Pastor Laura Tanner officiating. Burial will be in the Putnam Cemetery, Putnam. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 28, at the New Hope Church of the Nazarene in Princeton. Memorials may be directed to the New Hope Church of the Nazarene in Princeton. Pallbearers will be Dusty Workman, David Workman, Scott Workman, Tony Ryder, Russel Workman and Jim Read. Honorary pallbearer is Robert Workman.
