Roger A. Sterling

Roger Allen Sterling, 57, of Princeton, Illinois passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021 at his home.
He was born May 26, 1964 in Rockford, Illinois the son Donald and Jenirose (Sims) Houston.
Roger shared 23 years with Laura Sterling and together they enjoyed their blended family.
He is survived by 6 children: Lindsey (Mat) Pistole of Walnut, Ashlee (Eric) Fitzpatrick of Peru, Stacy (Joe) Widuch of Princeton, Chloe Sterling of LaSalle, Harley Sterling of Princeton, and Rilee Sterling of Princeton; four grandchildren: Vienna and Cohen Fitzpatrick and Miles and Gabriel Widuch; his mother, Jenirose Houston of Tiskilwa; four siblings: Kevin (Nanette) Sterling, Karina (Dave) Prokes, Robin (Rich) Johnsen, and Renea (Bob) Robison and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Houston.
Roger graduated from Tiskilwa High School.
He was a very dedicated machinist at a local factory.
Roger enjoyed Harley Davidson, NASCAR, and bowling. He spent time tinkering on cars and liked classic cars. Roger always made sure that his kid's cars were cared for. He will be remembered for supporting and spending time with his family.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial visitation will be held 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton. Memorials may be made on behalf of the family to Lindsey Pistole. Online condolences may be sent to www.grant-johnsonfh.com.

I always thought you were such a nice guy growing up. It pains me to hear of all of your struggles over the years. My wish is that you find happiness in releasing all of your past and moving on to a restful place for your heart & soul.
I don’t know of a single person that wouldn’t say Roger was the nicest guy. My heart is breaking for the entire Sterling family and his friends. Definitely a kind soul taken too soon but is in the hands of our Lord and Saviour. May you Rest in Peace now Roger. ðŸ™ðŸ»
