Robert Eugene Schertz, 79, of Tiskilwa passed away at 12:08 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at Kewanee Hospital in Kewanee. He was born Feb. 23, 1934, in Tiskilwa to Robert Edwin and Olive (Hager) Schertz. Worked part-time as a custodian at various local companies in Princeton. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Princeton. Surviving are one sister, Judith (William) Schulze of West Bend, Wis.; two sisters-in-law, Anna Mae Schertz of Wataga and Sharon Schertz of Tiskilwa; and special friend, Helen Kitterman of Tiskilwa; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, David and Richard Schertz; and one sister, JoAnn Schertz. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton. Burial will be in Mt. Bloom Cemetery, Tiskilwa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services in the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Gateway Services in Princeton.
