Robert E. Wright, 87, of Tiskilwa died at 9:07 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at his home. Born Aug. 27, 1924, in Milo Township, Bureau County, to Everett and Grace (Mayne) Wright, he married Mary K. "Sue" Balensiefen March 5, 1952, in Tiskilwa. She died Oct. 4, 2003. He was a 1942 graduate of Bradford High School. He was a farmer and worked for J&L Steel Mill in Hennepin. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton, Bureau County Farm Bureau and Steel Workers Union. Surviving are two sons, Joe (Lanette) Wright of Manlius and Steve Wright of Buda; six daughters, Diana (Stephen) Potthoff of Spring Valley, Teresa (Kevin) Pinter of Malden, Jeannie (Dennis) Franklin of Cherry, Anita (Jason) Reno of Bourbonnais, Karen (Michael) Hopper of Jacksonville and Mary Beth (Ryan) Jackson of Walnut; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Sidney L. (Rita) Wright of Putnam, Glen R. (Judith) Wright of Bradford, David A. Wright of Tiskilwa and Rollin D. Wright of Tiskilwa; one sister, Donna (George) Pollock of Rushville; and one brother-in-law, Virgil Balensiefen of Princeton. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Robert Roe Wright; one granddaughter, Melisa Sue Wright; two brothers, William E. and Stanley Wright; and three sisters, Bernadine Smith, Audry Stroup and Betty Balensiefen. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Princeton, with Deacon John Murphy and Father Jeffrey Stirniman officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary''s Catholic Cemetery, Tiskilwa. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Bradford, with a rosary service, led by Scott Potthoff, at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to St. Mary''s Catholic Cemetery in Tiskilwa. Pallbearers will be Joe Wright, Steve Wright, Michael Potthoff, James Potthoff, Grant Pinter, Brock Pinter, Joshua Wright, Jacob Franklin and Nickolas Reno.

  4. So very sorry to have discovered this information and feel bad I did not realize he had passed. Had some good times on the farm with him (and the family) when I came to visit Joe during High School years. He will be missed I know. Our thoughts and prayers will be all of you.
