Richard J. “Dick” Carroll, age 81, of Bradford, IL passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at his home. Dick was born April 23, 1935 in Camp Grove, IL, the son of Raymond and Ursula (Sager) Carroll. He married Wanda Lucille Unterfer June 25, 1971 at Visitation Catholic Church in Kewanee, IL. Dick and Lucy would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary this week. He graduated from Wyoming High School with the Class of 1953. Dick was a lifelong Stark County resident and farmer. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Dick retired in 2001 and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Dick is survived by his wife, Lucy of Bradford, IL; four children: Michael Carroll of Coal Valley, IL, Anne Carroll of Coal Valley, IL, Daniel (Ariana) Carroll of Colorado Springs, CO and William (Sara) Carroll of Villa Grove, IL; three grandchildren: Ethan, Emma and Elijah Carroll of Villa Grove, IL; one sister, Dorothy (Jim) Allen of Richardson, TX and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Barbara Swanson and Irene Smith and one brother, Dean Carroll. A funeral mass will be held Monday, June 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Bradford, with Father John Cyr officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, June 26 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Grant- Johnson Funeral Home, Bradford. Cremation rites will be accorded after services at Grant- Johnson Funeral Homes, Inc and Crematory, Princeton. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Bradford Rescue Squad in Dick''s memory.
