Richard "Dick" A. Hobrock

Richard “Dick” A. Hobrock, 90, of Princeton died at 7:25 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2018, at Aperion Care in Princeton. He was born Nov. 21, 1927, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the son of Oscar and Frieda (Koehlinger) Hobrock. He married Ruth A. Roberts on Jan. 31, 1970, in Skokie. She survives. Dick graduated from high school in Fort Wayne, Ind., and attended college in Lisle. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War, and was in the Reserves after being discharged. He worked as an electrical engineer for Commonwealth Edison, now called Exelon,for many years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Walnut, the Kiwanis Club in Princeton, the Moose Lodge in Princeton and Princeton American Legion Post 125. He was a Gold Coat at Perry Memorial Hospital for 20 years. Surviving are many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kenneth Hobrock; and one sister, Lara Miller. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 20, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Homes in Princeton, followed by a service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Brian Heller officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Princeton at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Walnut or Perry Memorial Hospital. I am thinking of you, Ruth – I always admired your devotion to Richard. There was never a doubt in his mind as to how much you loved him.
