Richard A. Anderson, 79, of Princeton, Illinois passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at his home in Princeton after battling cancer for 28 years.   

 He was born November 26, 1941 in Princeton, Illinois the son of August Walter and Mavis (Wilds) Anderson.

Rich married Sandra Rosinski on November 30, 1963 at St Mary's Catholic Church in Depue, Illinois. She survives in Princeton.

 He is also survived by three children: Vickie Byers of Chandler, AZ, Bradley (Marla) Anderson of Edelstein, IL, and Jason (Julie) Anderson of Princeton, IL; five grandchildren: Natalie Hopper, Nathan Byers, Emily Anderson, Kyle Anderson, and Allison Anderson; one great-granddaughter: Elliana Barcinas; and one nephew, David Loftus.

 Rich was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Linda Anderson.

 He graduated from Princeton High School with the Class of 1959.

 Rich retired from LTV Steel.

 He was a board member for the Bureau County Speedway, where he raced, for many years. Rich enjoyed fishing and watching NBA games, especially the Chicago Bulls. He loved tinkering in his shop and traveling with his wife.

 Cremation rites will be accorded and a graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Oakland Cemetery, Princeton, Illinois with Deacon John Murphy, officiating. A celebration of life will follow the service.     My heartfelt thoughts to you….I didn’t know Richard well but Linda often spoke of you two so that made me feel like I knew him a bit more. Seeing the names of your kids, especially Vickie and Natalie, brought so may happy memories to me.
