Reverend Ralph Edgar Faber

Rev. Ralph Edgar Faber, 83, of Princeton, Illinois died Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Liberty Village in Princeton.
He was born January 20, 1936 at his home in La Moille, IL during a month long blizzard the son of Henry Frederick and Rosalia Agnes (Meisel) Faber. He married Ruth Joanne Morris July 18, 1954 in Van Orin, Illinois. She survives in Princeton. They shared 64 years together.
Also surviving are 3 sons: Raymond (Melinda) Faber of Crawfordsville, IN, John (Abby) Faber of Cissna Park, IL and Ralph (Angela) Faber of Princeton; one daughter, Lynn (Daniel) Rasmussen of Manlius, IL; 8 grandchildren: Ronald, Michael, Tessa, Will, April, Layne, Dale, and Reese; 3 great-grandchildren: Logan, Tristan, and Aubrey; and one brother, Jerry (Glenda) Faber of Jackson, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Richard Faber, one brother, Norman Faber, and one sister, Shirley Rod.
Ralph graduated from Amboy High School with the Class of 1953. In 1968 he graduated from Huntington College, Huntington, IN with a Bachelor of Bible and Religion degree. He took a course at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield in 1971 and earned his Master of Christian Ministry at the School of Christian Ministry, Huntington, IN in 1992. In 2018 he celebrated his 50th college reunion.
He ministered at the Evangelical United Brethren (EUB) Church, Balbec, IN from 1965-1967, EUB Church, Monroeville, IN from 1967-1970, United Brethren (UB) Church, Manlius, IL from 1970-1973, UB Mission, Quincy, IL from 1973-1977, UB Churches of Rockford/Leaf River from 1977-1979, UB Church, Abilene, KS from 1981-1989, UB Church, Claytonville, IL from 1989-1999 and the UB Church of Manlius , IL from 2001-2005.
Visitation will be from 5-7pm Friday, February 15, 2019 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, Illinois. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Princeton with Rev. Steven Barber officiating.
