Rena I. Mylin, 94, of Manlius died at 9:35 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. Born Jan. 7, 1918, in Queen, Pa., to Percy and Mary Jane (Honstien) Claar, she married Lester Keefer in 1944. He died in 1964. She then married Sam Mylin in 1970 in Rock Falls. He died in 1987. She was a graduate of Glaysburg, Pa., High School and beauty school in Altoona, Pa. She was a business owner and secretary, she also worked at Lawrence Brothers in Sterling for 25 years. She was a member of United Brethren Church in Manlius and First Emanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Falls. Surviving are one daughter, Sandy (Wilber King) Boender of Manlius; one granddaughter, Sherry (Jeff) Dant of Princeton; one grandson, Greg (Shannon) Whitmer of Manlius; three great-grandchildren, Melanie Whitmer of Princeton, Kaycie Whitmer of Henry and Troy Siebech of DePue; one great-great-granddaughter, Ava Siebech; and two sisters, Zell (Richard) Dellinger of Sproul, Pa., and Norma Cowher of Queen, Pa. She was also preceded in death by nine brothers and two sisters. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manlius, with the Rev. Brenda Lovick officiating. Burial will be in Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Memorials may be directed to Walnut Manor in Walnut or Bureau County Volunteer Hospice in Princeton.
