Ray L. Kern, 74, of Princeton, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Allure of Walnut in Walnut, Illinois.
Ray was born on October 18, 1951, to Kenneth Elmer and Joyce Nadine (Kline) Kern. He graduated from Morris High School with the Class of 1971. Following graduation, he attended truck driving school and went on to enjoy a lifelong career as an over-the-road truck driver.
In his free time, Ray enjoyed bass fishing and faithfully attended the Princeton Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Ray is survived by his three siblings: Gary (Linda) Kern of Princeton, Illinois; Don Kern of Townsend, Georgia; and Debbie (Gene) Phister of St. Charles, Missouri. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Elmer and Joyce Nadine Kern; one brother, Kenneth Elmer Kern, Jr and sister-in-law, Lois Kern.
A private celebration of Ray’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Ray was such a delight! So blessed that Brian and I got to know him. Ray will be missed. 🥰
