Owen Kenneth Blitsch, 92, of Princeton died Friday, June 7, 2019, at his home in Princeton.

Ken was born May 2, 1927, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Owen Mosier and Mildred (Wells) Blitsch. He married Geraldine Tudor in 1950. She preceded him in death on July 19, 2014.

Ken, Gerry and family moved to Wyanet after purchasing the Wyanet Locker, where they successfully expanded the business before selling it in 1975. During that time, the family moved to the country near Wyanet, where they also farmed and raised horses.

Ken, along with his wife, established Wyanet Carpet in Wyanet and later moved the store to Princeton. After the sale of the carpet store, he retired.

Ken was lovingly known for his warm and loving personality at both the Wyanet Locker and Wyanet Carpet for over 40 years and thousands of customers.

He was a member of VFW Post 6634 in Wyanet.

Surviving are one son, Terry (Sandra) Blitsch of Princeton; one daughter, Linda (Mike) Judge of Princeton; five grandchildren, Lori Judge of Savannah, Ga., Mike Judge Jr. of Wyanet, Kristin Blitsch of San Diego, Calif., Melissa Xenidis of Frankfort and Jennifer Appel of Le Claire, Iowa; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 64 years, Geraldine.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a service will be at a later date.
