Nelda Marie Drake

Nelda Marie Drake, 98 of Princeton passed away August 14, 2023 in Dalzell, IL. Nelda was born October 27, 1924 in Princeton, IL to Joseph & Gladys (Jensen) Pierson. She married Kenneth William Drake November 7, 1943 in Tiskilwa, IL . He died September 4, 2005.

Survivors are two daughters, Martha Flaherty of Princeton; Linda Marlowe of Wyanet, IL; two sons, Howard Drake of NcNabb, IL ; Douglas (Cheryl) Drake of Princeton; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons-in-law, Albert Flaherty & James Lee Marlowe II; daughter-in-law, Alice Drake; two sons, Russell and LeRoy, two sisters, Dorothy  & Annabelle; brother, Roger Pierson.

She was a homemaker and raised six children, She Loved gardening  and was able to provide fruits and vegetables for her family.  She also raised chickens and sold eggs. She was known for her cooking and pie baking. She worked at Wyanet Grade school in the kitchen

Cremation rites will be  accorded and private graveside services at a later date.
