Neil L Wise

Neil L. Wise, 86, of Manlius passed away at 6:40 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2018, at his home. Born Aug. 16, 1931, in Greenville Township, the son of Andrew C. and Dorothy (Kruse) Wise, he married Virginia Devenney on Oct. 5, 1957, in Princeton. She survives in Manlius. He graduated from Manlius High School with the Class of 1949. He served in the U.S. Navy during the during the Korean Conflict. He worked at Kraft Foods and Korhumel Industries in Manlius. Also surviving are five children, Laura Wise of Manlius, Christopher (Stephanie) Wise of Joliet, Andrea Wise of East Moline, Michael (Heidi) Wise of Normal and Jolyn (Tom Jackson) Wise of Mt. Morris; a special granddaughter, Tori Crosby; one sister, Vivian (Mervyn) Wilson of Sheffield; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Margaret Chapple and Celestia “Sadie” VanOrmer. Cremation rites will be accorded and a private graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Illinois Valley Animal Rescue in Peru or the Quad City Animal Welfare Center in Milan. The Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton assisted the family with arrangements.
