Nancy E. Popejoy, 59, of Manlius died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Liberty Village of Princeton. She was born July 31, 1957, in Manlius, the daughter of Lyle and Darlene (Yonk) Hartz. She married Sam D. Popejoy Sept. 16, 1978, at the New Bedford Christian Church. He survives. She graduated from Manlius High School with the Class of 1975 and from the Moline Public Hospital School of Nursing in 1978. She had been employed at Perry Memorial Hospital in the OB Unit. Nancy loved her job and spending time volunteering with the March of Dimes. She taught CPR and prenatal classes throughout the area communities. Also surviving are two children, Samuel Scott (Nikki Lisko) Popejoy of Manlius and Emily Popejoy of Charleston, S.C.; two brothers, Donald (Marti) Hartz of Tebbetts, Mo., and Dennis (JoLynne) Hartz of Walnut; one sister, Linda Hartz of Sterling; two sisters-in-law, Renee Hartz of Sheffield and Julie Hartz of Manlius; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Arthur Hartz. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 8, at the New Bedford Christian Church in New Bedford with the Rev. Brian Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Manlius Cemetery in Manlius. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Manlius Cemetery Association or the New Bedford Christian Church.
