Minnie Mae Shipp

Minnie Mae Shipp, 83, of Wyanet died at 9:56 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. She was born April 8, 1929, in Ohio, Ill., to John Carl and Matilda (Miller) Erickson. She married Gordon Wesley Shipp on June 29, 1957, in the First Baptist Church of Manlius. He died July 17, 2010. Survivors include three sons, Wesley (Sandy) Shipp of Wyanet, Jeff (Ann) Shipp of Princeton, and Randy (Kim) Shipp of Wyanet; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Erickson of Princeton, and Jack Erickson of Princeton; three sisters, Alice Morris of Princeton, Helen (Gary) Vaughn of Princeton, and Elsie Jackson of Dover. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Russell and Arthur Erickson; and two sisters, Margaret Schaill and Martha Hoffman. She graduated from Bureau Township High School in 1947. She was a homemaker, and worked at Westclocks in LaSalle and Harper Wyman in Princeton. She was a member of the the First Baptist Church of Manlius. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Aaron Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Princeton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church of Manlius.
