Milton George Behrens

Milton George Behrens, 91, of Buda passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at OSF Richard L Owens Hospice Home in Peoria surrounded by his family.
He was born on October 4, 1932 in Wyanet, IL the son of Max and Myrtle (Olin) Behrens. He married Barbara Hadley on April 12, 1953. She preceded him in death on October 31, 1989. He was also preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Maxine Walters, Thelma Jenkins, Gladys Mecum and Viona Gutschall; two brothers, Edward and Wilbur Behrens.
George is survived by one daughter, Deborah Bissey of Virginia; two sons, David (Nancy) Behrens of Texas and Milton G Behrens II of Florida; one grandson, Troy (Nicole) Stockton; two great grandchildren, Daniel and Kamryn Stockton; two sisters, Doris Neahring, Marie Kerman; two brothers, Howard and Harold Behrens; along with many nieces and nephews.
He attended Hickory Grove of Buda Grade and High School. After high school he served in the United States Airforce for 20 years serving in England, Germany, Spain, Tiawan, Korea, Thailand and Vietnam. After retiring from the military, he drove school bus for 30 years for Western and Bureau Valley School District.
George was a member of the Buda, Sheffield and Walnut Masonic Lodges and an avid member of the American Legion. He was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Sheffield, IL. George was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved hunting alligator, wild hogs, bear and any types of game.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am until time of Service at 11:00am on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Sheffield United Methodist Church, 216 South Washington, Sheffield, IL 61316 with Pastor Terry Lancaster, officiating. A Masonic Service will immediately follow at the church. Burial will be at Hopeland Cemetery in Buda with Military Rites.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Disabled Veterans or Wounded Warrior Project.

George will be greatly missed. It was always a pleasure waiting on him.
