Mildred I. Frank
October 31, 1930 ~ November 5, 2021
Mildred Isabel (Smith) Frank went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 5, 2021 at her home in Princeton, Illinois.
Millie was born October 31, 1930 in Wyanet, Illinois. She was one of eleven children raised by Clarence and Eleanor (Harrison) Smith. Millie attended Wyanet and Jacksonville, Illinois schools. She later met, and fell in love with Albert Eugene Frank and they married March 25, 1951. Together they raised 6 children: Randy (Diane) Frank of Montgomery, Alabama, Rick (Carol) Frank of Putnam, Illinois, Kendall (Janet) Frank of Princeton, Tim (Diana) Frank of Ohio, Illinois, Debra (David) Lehmann of Cleveland, Ohio, and Lori (David) Scott of Belle Center, Ohio.
Millie worked hard all her life, including Perry Memorial Hospital, Colonial Hall Nursing Home, and Greenfield Assistant Living Center. Many times she worked extra jobs to make things easier for her family. Millie and Gene worked and lived on a small family farm on Little Denmark just outside of Princeton for over 50 years. Millie and Gene enjoyed dancing and were often the first couple on the floor when the music started. They both enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and having their family around them.
She loved cooking, baking and was especially known for her pies: but above all else, she loved her family. She would always fuss at her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids when they muddied up the house after playing in the creek (which they had been told to stay out of)….but she loved them all and wouldn’t have missed it for the world.
Millie is survived by her sister Dorothy Carlson, age 97, of Bradenton, Florida, 5 children, and their spouses, daughter- in law, Janet Frank, 16 grandchildren, and many great and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 9 siblings, her husband, Gene in 2019, son, Kendall, daughter-in law, Diane, grandson, Michael Birch of Alabama, and a great-grandson, Jackson Frank of Buda.
Visitation will be held at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at New Hope Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Laura Tanner officiating at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2021. Burial will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery in Wyanet following the service. Memorials may be directed to New Hope Church and the Princeton Fire Department. Online condolences may be sent to www.grant-johnsonfh.com.
Our family would like to say thank you to the New Hope Church for all of their care and kindnesses to our mom over the last few years. We'd also like to say thank you to all of the people in Mom's life that have been so kind to her and us.
I just seen this and wanted to tell the whole family sorry for their loss. We all grew up there in Little Denmark, but like what always happens through time is everyone drifts apart. I hope U all are doing ok. Wishing U peace and may God Bless your family and friends!!
