Michael Eugene Johnston Jr., 47, of Farmer City, died at 12:08 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 20, 2014) at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur. Cremation rites will be accorded and a service will be at a later date. He was born Oct. 14, 1966, in Bloomington, to Michael and Shirley Studnicka Johnston Sr. He married Jeynelle E. Horton on Sept. 11, 2009, in Farmer City. She survives in Farmer City. Also surviving is his father, Michael E. Johnston, Weldon; mother, Shirley Williams, Farmer City; two daughters, Chrystal (Carlos Almanza) Johnston, Bloomington, and Mollie Johnston, Mansfield; son, Kajika (Jake) Johnston, Mansfield; stepson, Nathaniel (Michelle) Porter, El Paso, Texas; stepdaughter, Vanessa (Eric) Sugg, Bloomington; six grandchildren, Alisha Jameson, Ethan Porter, Chase Phillips, Ian Phillips, Zackery Porter and Payton Sugg; and sister, Angel (Noel) Bourdeua, Kissimmee, Fla. He was preceded in death by stepfather, Joseph Ralph Williams Jr. Michael graduated from Blue Ridge High School, Farmer City. He worked at SuperValu Inc. in Champaign, and Express Employment Solutions in Decatur. He was a member of Bloomington Hog Chapter. Mike was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed the world from his bike. He was a man who lifted the spirits of everyone around him and will be greatly missed. A memorial & remembrance service will be 5-8 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Chuck''s Harley-Davidson, Inc. 2027 Ireland Grove Rd, Bloomington, IL 61704.
