He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, who he dearly loved teasing. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his mother-in-law, Carolyn Lawson.
He attended schools in Henry and Princeton and earned his GED. Michael was an honest and hardworking man his entire life. He worked as a chemical operator at Emeral Performance Materials in Henry, IL. He sustained a workplace injury, leaving him disabled.
Mike was a kind and gentle man with a profound passion for music. He was a self-taught drummer, who started getting the beat on coffee cans, as a little boy. When a song started playing, he could tell you the name of it and the names of the group members performing. Besides his passion for music, he loved '67 Chevelles. He enjoy being in the great outdoors, camping and fishing. He also loved garage sales, auctions and attending small town festivals with his wife, Judy. He loved being in his yard, feeding the squirrels and birds. He also enjoyed restoring old garden tractors in his spare time. His greatest passion, however was spending time with his family and friends. Michael leaves behind a number of good friends and will be greatly missed. In Mike's usual parting way…"Eat corn! Peace out!"
