Merle G. Moore, 89, of Neponset, Illinois passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 at his home.

 A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Hopeland Cemetery in Buda, Illinois with Pastor Stephen Myong, officiating. Military rites will be conducted. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

 He was born July 13, 1931 in Tiskilwa, Illinois the son of Everett and Esther (Hand) Moore.

 Merle and Jean Hunter eloped on January 12, 1952 in Geneva, Illinois. They shared 72 years together. She survives in Neponset.

 Also surviving is three daughters: Karen (Bobby) Payne of Neponset, Kris (Dave) Seyller of Prophetstown, IL, and Kari (Roger) Honts of Kewanee, IL; four grandchildren: Jillia (Andy) Robinson of Neponset, Jimmy (Sam) Minton of Neponset, and Alyssa Minton of Sterling, IL, and Bridgette (Mat) Lambourn of Texas; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harry (Bev) Moore of Kewanee, two sisters, Betty (Dave) White of Kewanee, and  Edwina (Gary) Christiansen of Bloomington, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his parents,  7 siblings, three children: Tommy, Donny, and Lori and a grandson, John Norton.

 He graduated from Buda High School with the Class of 1949.

 Merle owned and operated  his own trucking company, Kidd Trucking. He worked at J and L Steel, Caterpillar, and retired from Martin Engineering. Merle farmed for many years.  

 He was a member of Bunker Hill Church in Buda. He loved helping people with various projects. Merle enjoyed doing puzzles in the winter, tinkering in his garage, and loved going to Lake of the Ozarks. Most of all he loved his family and adored his wife.

 He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
