Melvin S. Price

Melvin S. Price, 88, of Wyanet, Illinois passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Heritage Health Nursing Home, Walnut, Illinois.
He was born October 11, 1933 in Princeton, Illinois the son of Stallard and Blanche (Bangston) Price.
Melvin married Dixie Anthony at the United Methodist Church in Wyanet on March 8, 1959. They shared 62 years together. She survives in Wyanet.
He is also survived by four children: Paula (Todd) Gustafson of Wyanet, Tammy (Buzz) Gustafson of Wyanet, Tim (Cindy) Price of Wyanet, and Bill (Lance) Price of Atlanta, Georgia; 7 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Francis Price.
Melvin graduated from Wyanet High School with the Class of 1951.
He was a member of the Local 150 International Union of Operating Engineers.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Wyanet and the United Methodist Church, Wyanet.
He was an avid horseman. Melvin was a great supporter of his family. He almost never missed his kids or grandkids sports activities and always had a hand in his families projects.
Melvin served in the United States Coast Guard.
A public viewing will be held from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the United Methodist Church in Wyanet. A private family service will be held with Pastor Kelly McKune, officiating and burial will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery, Wyanet, Illinois. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church, Wyanet or the Wyanet Fire and Rescue Unit. Online condolences may be sent to www.grant-johnsonfh.com.

Of the many years that that I knew him he always had time to talk, mostly about the grandkids and much he cared for them and progress in life he will be greatly missed by all.
