Melissa Ann Westefer, 38, of Kewanee, Illinois passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois.

She was born October 7, 1982 in Peoria, Illinois the daughter of Mark Ross and Annetta Webber.

Melissa married Kenneth Westefer in Henry County on December 27, 2007. He survives in Kewanee.

She is also survived by her mother: Annetta Webber of Bradford, Illinois; her father Mark Ross of Sarasota, Florida; two daughters: Makenzie Kruiz and Rhyan Emmoree both of Kewanee; two brothers: Matthew (Rachel) Ross of Princeton and Zachary Ross of Bradford; two sisters: Angela (Travis) Porter of SIlvis, Illinois and Michelle (Brice) Magarity of Deer Creek, Illinois; one step-brother, Tom (Michaele) Webber of Princeville, Illinois; one step-sister, Renee (Jesse) Wagner of Kewanee; her paternal grandmother, Margaret Ross of Sarasota, Florida; her mother and father-in law, Connie and Jerry Westefer; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her step-father, Larry Webber; step-brother, Brian Webber; paternal grandfather, Don Ross; maternal grandfather, Glenn Owens; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Owens. 

Melissa attended Bradford High School and earned her LPN from Blackhawk College, Kewanee, Illinois.

She worked as an LPN and her last place of employment was Petersen Healthcare, Kewanee. Melissa cared for others. This shown even through her death as she was an organ donor. 

Melissa enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her primary joy in life was her children.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Bradford, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon following the service Saturday at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Bradford, officiated by Rev. David Hamilton. Burial will take place in Evergreen Memorial Garden, Kewanee, Illinois. Memorials may be directed to her family. Online condolences may be sent www.grant-johnsonfh.com.
