Melinda Dunn, 59, of Sheffield, Illinois passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022 at her home.
She was born August 10, 1962 in Kewanee, Illinois the daughter of Donald C. and Nancy L. (Kagan) Moore.
Melinda married Leonard "Butch" Dunn on August 10, 1988 in Buda, Illinois. He survives in Sheffield.
She is also survived by one son: Chris (Chasidy) Dunn of Kewanee, Illinois; 5 step-children: Brenda (Scott) Milby of Kentucky, Teresa Dunn of Kewanee, Tony (Greta) Dunn of Manlius, Illinois, Axel Dunn of Wisconsin, and Tammy Dunn of Wisconsin; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Donald C. (Sandee) Moore, Jr. of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Rick (Becky) Moore of Rochelle, Illinois; and her mother-in law, Irene Dunn of Sheffield.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Melinda graduated from Western Community High School in Buda, Illinois with the Class of 1980.
She worked as a waitress at Main Street Café in Sheffield for many years. Melinda also helped her husband, Butch, at Outlaw Towing in Sheffield as a secretary and mechanic assistant.
She was an avid reader. She loved cars, including hot rods and racing. Melinda was a huge Dale Earnhardt fan. She enjoyed the time she spent with her family.
Per her wishes cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

I am just so very sorry. Melinda was such a sweet person. I so enjoyed having her as a student. She was always so upbeat and always had a smile. I know she will be greatly missed.
