Mary Lou Layton, 75, of Princeton died at 6:53 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, at Heritage Manor in Walnut. Born Jan. 6, 1941, in Alton to Frank and Wilma (Schoen) Hauversburk, she married James Everett Layton on May 7, 1960, in Godfrey. He died May 27, 2009. She was a 1959 graduate of Alton High School. She was employed by Princeton Elementary Schools for over 30 years. She was a member of the Princeton Women Bowling Association and coach for junior bowling for years. Surviving are two daughters, Tracy (David) Morrasy of McNabb and Misty Davis of Ohio, Ill.; one son, Allen (Kathy) Layton of Kasbeer; eight grandchildren, Brittany (Ryan) Buettner of Granville, Joshua (Erika) Morrasy of Peru, Stephanie (Matthew) Galassi of Sheffield, Ashley Layton of Mendota, Christopher Layton of Princeton, Bradley Davis of Ohio, Ill., Meghan Davis of Ohio, Ill., and Katie Beth Davis of Ohio, Ill.; three great-grandchildren, Jenna Galassi, Jason Galassi and Lucas Buettner; and three sisters, Natalie Doyle of Alton, Diane (Carl) Porter of Alton and Debra (Augie) Silingas of Fosterburg. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Frank Hauversburk Jr.; and two sisters, Sharon Fowler and Linda Kungilies. Services will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, with Pastor Gene Vincent officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the donor''s choice.
