Marita Jaggers, 93, of Liberty Village, Princeton, Illinois formerly of Wyanet, Illinois died 12:25 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Liberty Village in Princeton. Born April 5, 1925 in Ohio, Illinois to Harold and Genevieve (Scully) Johnson, she married Herman Jaggers on June 10, 1950 in Princeton. He died May 9, 1987. Marita graduated from Ohio High School with the Class of 1942. She attended Illinois State Normal and in 1944 began teaching in Bureau County Schools- Perkins Grove, La Moille, Mineral, and Manlius. She quit her teaching in 1970 to come help her husband farm in the Sheffield and Wyanet area. Surviving are one son, Kerry Jaggers of Wyanet, one daughter- in law, Donna Jaggers of Wyanet; 2 grandchildren, Jason Jaggers of Wyanet, and Shannon Alverez of Las Vegas, Nevada; 4 great-grandchildren: Devin and Tyler Alvarez and Madison and Brodie Jaggers; sister, Phyllis Johnson of Princeton, Illinois; brother, Robert (Mona) Johnson of Princeton. And the Jason Smith family: Jason, Jamie, Bryson, and Landon and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death her parents, husband, infant daughter, Vickie Lynn, and sister, Margie Cordrey. She loved being with her family and loved taking pictures of their escapades. She also liked doing crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles during her stay at Liberty Village. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Rita has lived, loved, laughed and cried in the 31 years since Herman died. She enjoyed her family, grandkids, great-grandkids, the Jason Smith family as one of her own. Memorials may be directed to the Wyanet Rescue Squad or St. Louis Catholic Church, Princeton.

My condolences to your family on the loss of your Mother. I remember both your Mom & Dad when I was in Wyanet in 1970. They were such nice people.
