Marie M. Gilsdorf

Marie M. Gilsdorf, 78, of Princeton, Illinois passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022 at her home.

 She was born June 9, 1944 in Texas the daughter of James Russ and Maxine Scheiber.

 Marie married Albert Gilsdorf August 4, 1960 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He preceded her in death October 30, 2016.

 She is survived by one daughter: Linda (Todd) Brokaw of Princeton; one son: Daniel (Tish) Gilsdorf of Princeton; six grandchildren: Josh, Cody, Nicholas, Alexis, Devyn, and Jonathon; one great-granddaughter, Reylee; two brothers, J.R. (Alice) Russ of Plainfield, IL and Melvin (Pat) Russ of Cape Coral, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister, Linda Rohlfes.

 She enjoyed her work cleaning houses for numerous teachers in Princeton.

 Marie loved her flower gardens, playing bingo, and baking. She had a large collection of angels.  

She made the best potato salad and egg sandwiches. Her husband often joked around saying that Marie tortured her food by eating so slowly.

 Marie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

 A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 11:00 - 12:00 noon at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, July 13, 2022 following the visitation at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Sheffield Cemetery, Sheffield, Illinois.
