Lois Jean Day

Lois Jean Day, 82, of Wyanet passed away at 5:09 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at Colonial Hall in Princeton. Born June 27, 1931, in Wyanet to Lee and Velma (Prettyman) Oloffson, she married Francis "Stormy" James Day April 5, 1958, in Wyanet. He survives. She was a homemaker and seamstress, and had worked at the Wyanet Bank. She was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Catholic Church in Princeton. She was a life member of the Wyanet VFW Post 6634 Auxiliary, where she had served as secretary and treasurer. Also surviving are three sons, Steven "Bingo" (Jane) Day, Larry Griffin of Princeton and Jeff (Janet) Day of Wyanet; one daughter, Vicki (Jim) Ross of Wyanet; eight grandchildren (special grandson, Keegan Day); eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert (Clara) Oloffson of Wyanet. She was preceded in death by her parents. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, with Deacon John Murphy officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Forest Hill Cemetery, Wyanet. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Wyanet VFW Post 6634.
