Linda “Susie” Sue Patty, 75, of Mendota, IL passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2025 at home surrounded by loved ones.

Susie was born on May 22, 1949 in Kewanee, IL the daughter of Gordon William and Bertha Mae (Newman) Mercer. She married Carl Richard Patty on December 14, 1969 at Buda Methodist Church in Buda, IL. Susie worked at Bradford High School as their cook for many years. She then went to work for Dr. Castelein Orthodontics in Princeton prior to her retirement. Susie was also a past member of the Bradford Beta’s. Throughout her life time she enjoyed sewing, needle point and music. Most of all she cherished spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband Carl “Dick” Patty of Mendota; two daughters, Debbi Becker of Hickory, N.C. and Donna (Matt) Arjes of Mendota; seven grandchildren, McKenzie Becker, Madelyn Becker, Meredith Becker, Tanner (Shelby) Arjes, Addison Arjes, Elijah Arjes and Aiden Arjes; one great- grandchild, Curren Arjes; one sister, Sandy Whitney of Silvis; along with nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Patti Ann Mercer and one great- grandson, Bodie Arjes.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00pm until time of service at 6:00pm on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton, IL. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Burial of cremated remains will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to Northwestern Medicine Cancer Center in Warrenville, IL.
