Leo A. Hopper, 63, of Princeton died at 9:40 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at the LaSalle Veterans Home in LaSalle. Born May 18, 1948, in Princeton to Amos and Joyce (Sabin) Hopper, he married Gloria J. Ellis-Rodseth May 19, 1987, in Princeton. She survives. He retired from Harper-Wyman in Princeton in 1987 after 20 years of service. He also retired from Mitsubishi Motors in Normal in 2000. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving as a sergeant with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Princeton Moose Lodge 1339 and was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame. Also surviving are one son, Chad Hopper of Ottawa; one daughter, Kelly (Chad) Hunt of Davenport, Iowa; two stepsons, Bradley (Carol) Rodseth of Minonk and Kevin (Debra) Rodseth of Chillicothe; one sister, Linda (Larry) Nelson of Princeton; three grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, with the Pastor Laura Root officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Princeton, with military rites conducted by American Legion Post 125 of Princeton. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer''s Association or the LaSalle Veterans Home in LaSalle.
